Ashley's Christmas Concert

Ashley's Christmas concert was amazing!! Mrs. Orendorf, the music teacher, did a fabulous job teaching these kids some powerful songs about our Lord Jesus. There were also hand motions that went with every song, and the kids did an amazing job. Ashley sang so well and knew almost all of the hand motions. It was a great to see our daughter offering up Praise to Jesus as we celebrated His birth. It was a great way to start off the Christmas season for our family!!! (I just wish Ashley wasn't always in the back row, oh well I guess that's the price you have to pay for being the tallest girl in the class :)

Abby's 3rd Birthday

Abby knew exactly what she wanted to do for her birthday this year, and there was no talking her out of it. She wanted to have Chuck E. Cheese sing Happy Birthday to her and have her family and friends there as well! She had a wonderful time and absolutely beamed when "Chuck" came to see her!! What a memorable night it was for her. We love our sweet little Abby so much!!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Harvest Day and Train Ride to Fillmore

This was the annual Harvest Day for Kindergartners at Stockdale Christian. The kids had a blast!!! They enjoyed tractor races, sack races in overalls, special banjo music, and of course having some yummy food as well!

Look at these Cute Farmer Chicks!!!

The Old John Deere isn't nearly as fast without a motor. Go Ashley Go!!

The girls also got to go on a fun train ride through the foothills of Filmore with Grandpa and Grammie!! The train ride was almost as good as the ice cream that they got to have when the train stopped for a short break. :)

Grandparents Day at Stockdale Christian

Today was Grandparents Day at Stockdale Christian School. And Ashley was blessed to have all 4 of her grandparents there. It was a special day to honor Grandparents for the important roles they play in the lives of their grandchildren. We are so thankful that God gave Mark and I such wonderful parents!! We couldn't raise these girls without them!! We love you Grandpa, Grammie, Poppa & Nana!!!!!!!!!

Trip to Kernville and the 100 Giant Redwoods

Every year, usually in the spring we take a trip up to Kernville with my parents. This year our trip didn't happen until the fall, but better late than never. It was an extra special trip this year. Not only did we go to Kernville and get to see the beauty of the Kern river, but we went to see the 100 Giant Redwoods in the Sequoias as well. It was amazing to see some of God's most amazing creations and the girls even got to stand inside many of the trees, which they thought was very cool. Walking amongst all those trees just reminds you how big and amazing God really is. His creation is truly breath taking!!

Our Little Reader

Ashley is reading!! It is amazing, with less than 2 months of being in school Ashley is now a reader. Her class spent these first few weeks learning all the different vowel, consonant, and blend sounds. Now they are putting it all together and reading. She even made a word wall in our house of some of the sight words she has been practicing and can now read them all!! I wish I was tech savvy enough to post a video of her reading!! She really is enjoying her new talent and loves to read. She also has become quite the writer as well, with notepad and pencil in hand every free moment she gets. I am also amazed by her math skills, she can add numbers with sums up to 10. It is so much fun watching her learn and grow, Kindergarten really is an exciting year and we want to cherish every moment.

Pumpkin Picking

Well, it was off to Banducci's Pumpkin Patch again for our annual pumpkin picking. The girls had fun being able to run all over and explore with Nana and I chasing after them. The pumpkins were great, and of course we got some great pictures of Ashley, however Abby was harder to capture in photos, she wouldn't sit still long enough to get a good shot. That is until we got to the animals. There are quite a few farm animals at the back of the pumpkin patch and Abby was in hog heaven, she is definitely our animal lover!! She adored petting all the animals and wanted nothing more to do with picking out pumpkins. It was a memorable fall activity even thought the weather felt more like summer!!

Ashley's 1st Kindergarten Field Trip

Hi-Ho-the-Dairy-O!!
Ashley's very first Kindergarten field trip was to a classmates family dairy. All 3 Kindergarten classes from Stockdale Christian School ventured out to the McClain's Dairy. It was a fun filled trip full of petting day old calves, seeing how cows are milked, having cookies and milk and taking in the smell of the good old dairy. Ashley and her little buddy Olivia weren't to fond of the lovely smells the cows produce. It was a fun trip that we won't soon forget!

A Trip With Daddy to Reno Air Race's

Ashley got to go on a very special weekend away with Daddy to watch the Reno air races. They went with Uncle JJ, Blaine, Braden and a few other guys. Ashley was the only girl, but she sure didn't let that bother her!!! She had a wonderful time playing and enjoying spending time with her Dad. She even visited her first casino (which I didn't find out about til later ha ha) and won a guitar that she loves!! I think what Ashley will remember most about this trip is that her Daddy included her and made it a special weekend just for the 2 of them. (Stay tuned for Abby's first weekend away with Daddy.)

The Great Kern County Fair

What would September be without a trip to the Kern County Fair, the animals, the games, the fun, oh and of course the food!!! Well we had another fun and memorable trip with the girls at the fair. We met Poppa and Nana there, and then Auntie Le-le came along with Jacob and Taylor Hardt. Our little Abby, the animal lover, just had to see her favorite horse in the world, Lolly who she fell in love with last year. Abby was in luck because Lolly was at the fair and Abby got to ride her once again. Other memorable mentions was jumping on the high trampoline!! That was exciting for everyone!! Oh and the face painting, Ashley's favorite. One things for sure, our yearly trip to the fair was fun memories for our girls!

New Beds for the Princesses!!

Moving into our new home, meant Abby would finally get a bed of her own! Hooray! When we asked the girls if they wanted beds apart or together they chose to be in the same room and Ashley insisted that they be bunk beds!! Well they finally have arrived and the girls are enjoying their new beds. Now we just have some work to do on decorating the room, hum does anyone know any good decorators in town? Oh yeah Grammie and Auntie Angela just happen to be some of the best decorators in town and Grammie has offered to help convert this room into a fun place for the girls to hang out. Thanks we can't wait to see it all come together!!
